If then I corrupt the youth by this teaching, the mischief is great.“ (Guardini 47) In short, by teaching the youth of Athens to pursue something more than the material gains of life and politics, he cultivates the truest Athenian citizen. As he has been encouraged to share his voice in a democratic society that believes in pursuing the greatest good through the concept of the marketplace of ideas,5 by fully engaging the concept of freedom of an Athenian citizen and exercising his individuality.“
